Approximate carat weight of a Heart Shape diamond=Length x Width x Depth x 0.006  
The above weight formula provides an estimate. The actual weight may vary up to 10%, depending on the make and accuracy of the measurement tools.  
A nice make for a heart shape diamond is a 1:1 ratio. (See Table and Depth Percentage Formulas ).

A Bow Tie is the reflection of the facets from the pavilion of a diamond which appears through the table. It looks like a shadow or dark area in the shape of a man's bow tie in the center of the Marquise. To eliminate this effect, special pavilion facets are cut which the industry calls the "French Culet".
